I examine environments in my daily life and try to create the prerequisites for surrounding the motif with a variety of meanings. Not everything is what it seems to be.
Cultural grant
Agneta Eriksson examines everyday environments in her paintings and sculptures through an apparently simple and confident way. But her art operates on many levels. The titles contrast the imagery and create a simultaneously ironic, mysterious and humorous array of possible associations. She also consciously explores the traditionally burdened media painting and sculpture in a kind of meta-artistic game with the viewer’s expectations. The self-evident turns out to be treacherous.
