Often I try to find the absurd core in the meeting of dreams and reality.

My mother has a china cabinet. When she has guests - but only then- she carefully takes out some plates or cups. Some of the things have been there for many years, as if in a museum. They are antiques. Every little side plate has its own story. That cup was bought by Grandmother before the revolution. And this set was used when Great-Grandfather gave a dinner party for his students before the war. That itemthey bought after the evacuation … The whole story of my family and my country is represented in this cabinet. Wars, revolutions, christenings and weddings. Now how many such cabinets can there be all over the world? How many wars, how many returns of peacetime are collected in them? What stories still remain concealed in these cabinets, and what stories are now just vague fragments of memory?
